Friends

Today I want to reflect on friendship.

In Friends, we value honesty, transparency, loyalty, good humor and optimism, joy of life, respect for the family and diversity, empathy, good judgment and, as our ancestors said, "honor".

Friends are needed along with the family to help us develop holistically. With them, we share the most important moments of life, both the happy and the sad, is with them that we have the most fantastic adventures, do mischief, we laugh out loud or cry bitterly. They are an important part of the experiences that make us grow.

I don`t consider myself a great friend, I know I have flaws and that makes me rather a lonely person, but my real friends know that despite the time and distance I adore them, you wish them well and they can count on me the best of my ability.

I'm a quite sociable and friendly person, but at the same time I`m very suspicious and resentful. While I have to get along easily with people most of the time, consider going long before someone my friend. Life taught me to be well to tip backstabbing, but also with words of comfort, ear pulling and post sorrows deep laughter.

I`ve made friends over the internet, mainly by messenger, since 2003, when placed internet in my mother’s home. In fact, I even had a boyfriend once.

In this moment, my nearest and dearest friend is my partner, my boyfriend. At first we did`nt hit it off, but after a meaningless conversation that we didn´t recognized (was via msn) we became very good friends. Six years have passed since that time, in which we have had endless conversations accompanied by a good coffee and some freak youtube’s video. We were "brutally frank" with each other and we relied mutually Us I performed for dating and friends went out walking to get lost in Rancagua and surroundings.

Cristian is an old-fashioned gentleman, I always said that he came from another era. He is ironic, a little bit pedantic, he likes to disturb to the rest and he appears to be very tough, but underneath is very sensitive and adorable. He tries to invent a parallel world where you can feel happy and forget your troubles. He tells the unvarnished truth and treats everyone "as it deserves."

I don`t like the concept of "best friends", I love them all equally, but I dislike the idea of telling everything that happens in my life, so I tell each one particular area, which sits we may have something important to say. Still, my friends are definitely the best!

I keep my friends even school stages. I don`t like ex - students meetings, I just like to see people who I really appreciate, which happens every five years on average. In that sense, facebook and social networks have been very helpful for me because my friends are scattered across the country.

I send a giant hug to each of them!

My Future Job

In the University where I study, there isn`t subjects who allow me get a specialize in a certain area. There is some elective subjects who can not qualify like one, because is not fair that we have to choose if is more important to our profesional training know about childhood's healthcare, develop their imagination or the motor skills. That kind of thought is detrimental to the holistic education that children of our country so desperately need.

However, I have taken some subjects on my own, like events production and storytelling. I`d like concentrate more on ludic areas of educational work,  but  I can`t decide yet between to create teaching materials, work in art therapy with boys and girls with any kind of disabilities, provide communal education to children and their families in primary care centers or promote the culture and art in public libraries.

For any of this options, I`m considering study the career of cultural management, but in another country as Argentina, in e-learning mode, because it`s very expensive pursue post grade studies in Chile, specially in terms of time and Money.

I`m hoping to become in a cultural manager in to infantile level. My future job should be able to permit me work with a multidisciplinary team with service vocation for children and adolescents. i want teach from education in art, where values are inculcated as self-esteem, respect for diversity, empathy, etc., encouraging everybody to develop integrally their resilience, and delivering support tools to help them fend for themselves in this convulsed and crazy world.

Other aspects to considering could be: Salary, work atmosphere, location, because I`m not 100% sure, but I might work in Santiago, Rancagua or the south zone, and hours. I want dedicate time to form a family and another personal projects.

I’m good at initiative, working in team and creating different things with specific material. I’m terrible with money and I become nervous when i`m expose to many people. It`s something in what i have to work.

How Green Am I?

Very good question!

I guess the people learn about environmentally friendly practice initially in the elementary school. But this knowledge is very superficial, the kids aren´t achieve to dimensioning the real importance of the nature care.
Personally, I tried to incorporate recycling habits, like re utilize containers, tins, box, etc. I live in a small apartment and there are not recycling units in my neighborhood, so is very difficult do something about it. I plant seedlings like albahaca, laurel, ruda, and others, to create my own mini orchard and to clean a little bit the air; I don´t have a car or a bike, so I use my legs and public transport to scroll to the city.

I don`t belong to any eco-organization, but when I have time, I upload information to our blog of animals protection, created in 2011 for the asignature of communication and media with my friends Samantha, Karen and Dámaris.

I would like to know more about environment protection and to implement improvements in my home and my neighborhoods, plant more trees and orchards, protect stray animals, promote exchanges of natural and organic products and objects, use recycling containers, and everything that serves to provide the care of our environment. I don`t know how reduce my carbon footprint, but I search information about this option.

In our society, especially in Santiago, the people must be more emphatic  more conscious and less selfish. This is the only way of react to the severe damage that we are causing to our planet.

BOOKS AND LITERATURE

I love reading since I was a little girl. I always devoured every book I could get my hands, even if those books were for adults. In the Lyceum the teachers made me read a lot, but to my surprise, i was not bored. I enjoyed myself and i always searched more books!

I  ran away from my class and i hid in the library. Here, I met a kind of literature called Fantasy Literature. It was recommended by a guy I liked at the time. The most important books that i readed in that time were the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I love that kind of books, because they break with monotonous reality and shows me scarcely imaginable worlds. Also, i like the History books, mainly medievals and renaissance.

I like the books of myths, leyends and traditions greeks, chineses, japaneses, indians, arabics and chileans. But i like also the victorian tales and the magic realism of Gabriel García Márquez.

Believe or not, I dislike the Sci Fiction literature, because it leaves me many questions, like the subjugation of the science, the fear at the future and the aliens, who cause me panic.

As i have said, really i dont have free time, so i'm reading frequently the texts of the university. However, the last book I read was As the Water on the Sand (a. k. a. Nectar in a Sieve, 1955) of Kamala Markandaya.

I really enjoyed this book, i surprised, i laughed and i cried too. It took me two days to read it complete.

This book is about a girl who is forced to marry with a poor man. But they fall in love, have children and fight until the limit of their forces for keep save their family and their lands.

I would recommend this wonderful book to any person who believes in true love yet. This words sounds very corny but today they are a treasure that few people have,  especially when we faced to the adversity.

By Gwynne Hogan
Santiago Times, Thursday 27 September 2012 21:46
http://www.santiagotimes.cl/chile/education/25210-chilean-student-protest-deteriorates-into-chaos

Police report 100 arrests after violent clashes with protesters.

The article is about chilean student protest. The narraton says that thousands of university and high school students marched on Thursday from Central Station of Santiago City, along La Alameda, to express their discomfort with the government.

The protest was organized by the Coordinating Assembly for Secondary Students (ACES), the National Coordination of Secondary Students (CONES) and supported by the umbrella organization the Confederation of Chilean Students (Confech). It was a prelude to the congressional debate over the 2013 budget, which pretends spend a twenty percent of the budget in the education item, but students insists it isn´t enough. It was repeated in cities like Concepción and Valparaíso.

During the protest, ACES tries to convince to boycotting municipal elections at the end of October as response to government inaction. The students know that elections won't change anything, so they are calling to vote null or not vote and they invited to participate in the social movements. “If we want something we have to fight for it." They think that they don´t have more options to express their ideas.

The peaceful protest for education became to a burst of violence, arrested students for launch glass bottles, molotov cocktails, and tear gas and water cannons from the police barricade. The witnesses say that there were too many police this day, which arrested protesters without motives and respect for human rights.

I “celebrate” the Independence day holidays with my family in Rancagua city. We are not patriots, and we don`t have great traditions neither. My brothers and I travel to Rancagua city to visit to my mother, my grandmother, my nephew and my Little brother.  My brother Nicolás puts up the chilean flag on the roof. My mother and I prepare the costume of my nephew for his performance in the kindergarten. Also, my father comes to visit us and we go together to the “fondas” (a kind of typical chilean tavern).
I like this holiday because my uncles visit to my grandmother, we do a barbacue and my mother and grandmother make "empanadas".
I don`t like the people who remember the traditions only in these dates, and use traditional costumes like a cosplay, everyone eat and drink excessively, as if "the end of the world" came, there are many accidents and many drunk, the reggaeton and cumbia music are the new national anthems and the trade abuse of the concept.
Finally, just barely ends "the 18" people forget everything quickly and completely and the stores already are filled with Halloween decorations. ("The Chilean Way").
For the holidays, I went to see some old friends, I shared with my family and my boyfriend, I visited my in-laws and rested a little. In fact, it was boring.
For me, It doesn’t a significant celebration, but I respect the meaning it has for other people.

My Best Holidays

In the 90´s, when I was a child, my family and I spent our holidays in Mirasol, near Algarrobo, in the Region of Valparaíso.

Mirasol is a beautiful beach of yellow sand and green sea, but children can´t swim there because its waves are very dangerous. There is a place called pirate’s cave next to the beach, which is fun to visit, and young people practice parapente and another extreme sports in this place.

I will never forget those holidays because all my family traveled to our big house there. I remember that house was sorrounded by hortensias and a picket fence. It was a very quiet and relaxing place. I ate food cooked by my grandfather and her cousins (who died a long time ago) and played with my brothers and cousins. I used to walk along the beach and collect shells and algae.

At night, we went to the centre of the town, to visit the handcraft fair. Then, we all played cards and laughed a lot.

I disliked the public transport of the place, because the buses were always full and very slow. But the good thing was we could see all the beachs in that way.

I would really like to go to back to Mirasol someday. It’s a great place to spend the holidays.

A COUNTRY I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

I would like to visit United Kingdom. This is an unitary state that consists of four countries: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. In their places have a lot of medieval architecture, beautiful country sites, castles and an interesting royal guard.

In England is also famous for its Victorian Literature, great musicians and actors. In this country Joanne K. Rowling inspired to write Harry Potter. Besides, United Kingdom has a great mythology and a very rich culture.

I would like to visit mainly Wales and Scotland because they have another language. I like this accent.

I would like to know about its educational system and its health system. Perhaps, live there a few years and visit my cousin and her family. Also, there are many touristic attractions: parks, museums, galleries, etc.

I would like to eat its typical food, take pictures and walk along the River Thames.

I liked the pictures of that country that i saw on the Internet, especially those exhibited during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

FIRST TERM: GOOD AND BAD POINTS

The first term I learned a lot, but that learning was more concerning to life itself than studies. I had many problems to get a good performance in my career, but nevertheless I had good results.

I made the difficult decision to leave my family to live permanently in Santiago with my boyfriend. We moved to a dangerous neighborhood, we knew nothing about that in this city. Both have health problems. Without job, money or great support from our families, we had to know ourselves in the everyday at domestic situations, which is not easy.

In my case, I dealt with divide my time between University, my job, my sick boyfriend and visiting my family in Rancagua. I felt I couldn’t do it, I had no time for mysef. I thank my friends, who are few, because they never lost faith in me and they always gave me encouragement.

Obviously, I had no free time. especially for exercise. Anyway, I could spend some time on the things I like: food, medieval events and children´s fantasy literature.
